2020 Irish Network Colorado – Virtual Events
Over the past few months we have had a couple of well attended virtual events.
First was the Finding Motherland event with Helen Thorpe. Helen spoke about life on a dairy farm in Ireland where her mother grew up and her family’s decision to immigrate to the United States. There was a lengthy discussion after Helen’s presentation on various Irish American topics.

Last month, Martin Curley from Galway had a presentation on the Mountbellew Famine Orphan Girls event where they are creating a memorial to honour the 80 young women who were sent from the Mountbellew Workhouse in 1852 to Australia and Canada.
