December 2020 Update on the Leadville Irish Miners’ Memorial

The mound that will be the foundation of the centerpiece sculpture and been completed and will settle over the winter. A second load of soil was delivered and bedded into place by our talented excavator/molder Nathan, just as the first snow arrived in Leadville. Check out this timelapse of Nathan at work in October. https://youtu.be/rxOMinGTa38

Here is a timelapse of some of the tree cutting and shrub removal in June.

Special thanks to the Leadville Film Commission who took these timelapse videos.

We are hoping to start the landscaping work in April/May when the snow has melted and complete the memorial during the summer with an unveiling in September 2021.

Irish Network Colorado are very appreciative of the tremendous work that has been done since the summer by some very dedicated Leadville volunteers – go raibh míle maith agaibh!

We are still fundraising to meet our Phase 1 goal.
