Please join us for an informal and informative evening as we share about the history of Leadville, and some notable characters: prostitutes, nuns, and miners!
Kathleen Fitzsimmons, third general local educator and Leadville historian, will share how and why Leadville held such prominence in early Colorado and the current efforts to build the Irish Miners’ Memorial in Evergreen Cemetery in Leadville.

Nan Anderson will share about her knowledge of Leadville’s famous madams in her research as an historical architect. She and her family run Freight – a gathering space in Leadville which features meticulous restoration and clever new construction.

Then, in contrast to the prostitutes, Tess Julian, INCO Vice President, will share her knowledge about the nuns who lived and worked at 10, 200 feet in Leadville. The parallels between the groups – prostitutes, nuns and miners – will wrap up the evening. General Q&A after the presentation.

Grab dinner, a cup of tea, or a cup of something else and join along!
