The Celtic Festival in Cortez will be a fun filled experience for the whole family. NMCA will be there to help put on the Athletic side of the festival. There will be weights flying, stone putting, and cabers turning in a day long competition. Come out to be part of the celebration of Celtic Heritage that will take place in June.

About The Young Dubliners
After thirty years as one of the world’s leading Celtic Rock bands, The Young Dubliners have begun work on their tenth studio album (with longtime producer Irish-born Tim Boland) while still maintaining their busy tour schedule. They have returned to the road post-pandemic stronger than ever and determined to bring their fusion of Celtic and rock music to as many people as they can.
The band is Keith Roberts (vocals / guitar), Chas Waltz (Violin, keys, vocals), Justin Pecot (guitar, vocals), Dave Ingraham (drums) and Ethan Jones (bass guitar). With a batch of incredible new songs and an undeniable energy, the band is excited to bring their show to festivals, theaters and clubs around the world.
“We want to be the band who reminds the world how important a good gig can be to our sanity after what we’ve all been through,” says Roberts.
The Young Dubliners have released nine albums to date. In recent years, the band has appeared twice on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, had songs featured in TV shows (Sons Of Anarchy, Human Target) and toured extensively as a headliner and as the opener for such a diverse list of artists as Collective Soul, Jethro Tull, Johnny Lang, Los Lobos and Chris Issak.
Although the Young Dubliners sound is most commonly called Celtic Rock, that label can often be misleading. The Irish influence is certainly there, but it’s not the only influence that bursts through on their albums or live shows. After all, several of the band members have no Irish roots of any kind.
“That was always the idea,” Roberts said. “The sound was intended to be a hybrid because we all come from different backgrounds. Even though I am from Ireland, a lot of the music I listened to growing up wasn’t Irish at all, but when I got here, I got homesick and developed a new appreciation for Irish Music. In truth the Celtic riffs can just as easily come from the American band members. Everyone writes now so you never know what you’ll end up with.”

Ryan Chrys & The Rough Cuts bring forth new energy to music fans who love the heroes and outlaws of old. Influenced by the songs and personalities of legends like Waylon and Willie, they drive their sound with blazing guitars and a rock n’ roll attitude. The band pays respect to classic styles, but anyone can tell from their overdriven sound that they’re far from traditionalists. Recommended for lovers of both classic country and 70’s rock n roll.

The Bow Tides is a powerhouse Celtic ensemble led by three Irish fiddlers: Ellery Klein, Jessie Burns and champion Irish dancer Katie Grennan. These dynamic women are veterans of the stage and studio, with a collective 16 years as the fiddlers with the Irish-American supergroup Gaelic Storm. Holding down the low end in the group are Grammy-nominated bassist Eric Thorin and guitarist/singer Jeff Lindblade.
The Bow Tides celebrate community and collaboration, delivering uplifting, unique Celtic music that evokes joy. Formed in 2020, the group was commissioned to produce online concerts for Spanish Peaks Irish Festival and Pittsburgh Irish Festival. Garnering rave reviews, and just one year later, they hit the main stage at Pittsburgh Irish Festival, debuting their stunning original compositions, rich harmonies and driving traditional tunes, songs and Irish dance arranged for three fiddles, guitar and double bass.
In 2023, they released their debut album Sailing On, packed full of gorgeous original compositions as well as a breadth of uniquely arranged traditional tunes from Ireland, Scotland and Galicia. 2024 has seen the Bow Tides headlining at festivals across the United States, including the nation’s largest: Milwaukee Irish Festival.
